Puppies, Puppies, Puppies Everywhere!

So it’s almost time. Almost time to let them go to new homes. All three of us have fallen in love with these little guys. They are so friendly and sweet and funny and amusing and adorable. I wish I could keep them all, but I’m afraid I just can’t justify 9 dogs. So six more of them have to go. One has already found a wonderful home as a companion even though she would also make an excellent cattle dog as well. But that’s okay, because we know she will be well loved, spoiled and close by for us to visit. But the other 6 are looking for great homes as well, as either working cattle dogs, companion dogs, or both. Nothing like a wonderful border collie to love!

The First Day Of School – 2011

Did we even have a summer? I’m not sure that we did. It feels like May 2011 just got over and the kids and I just got the pool set up for the summer. So sad. This summer flew by so fast it seems almost like it did not happen at all.
This morning, my beloved Little Ones were up early excited and yes, nervous to being another year of school. Somewhere along the line, there was a kitten involved, two dogs, and several horses. They had smiles and I had a sad heart, knowing that another part of our life is now past with the memories and the images to remind of us of the fun and joy and journey we have had.
And of course, this morning I had all of us take those “first day of school” images as I always do.
It’s not fair to a mother how fast her beloved children grow and spread their wings. No matter what,
the two of them will always be my babies and fill my heart and soul as no other can. Thank you God for the blessing they are.

Buckshot?

Yesterday, when I got home from helping some friends and touring the flooded areas to see the awful damage first hand (You really have no idea until you physically see it first hand!) I came home to a lovely gift from God. Snoopy finally had her baby. He’s beautiful. LONG LONG legs. Keep in mind, this little guy is not out of my stallion Whistler, but rather out of a bucking stallion owned by a great friend who cared for my mare when I did not have room for her. He’s a big powerful roan stallion and I adore him. And…me being me…I like my horses a little on the rough side. And so does my son. Hopefully, if things all pan out, this will be Little Man’s rope horse. The only thing I would change is that it would be a filly rather than a stud colt, as I would have LOVED to have crossed it to my stallion Whistler.
But I’m happy with this little guy. He should roan out nicely and have a great friendly willing mind and very athletic body.

Kittens

Here is one of the 5…yes…F.I.V.E…kittens our beloved and TINY Stewie gave birth to.  Sigh…I guess they will all go to the barn to live.  Should have plenty of all natural things to eat there.  (shudder!)…but that’s what cats do, right?
