My Parents

Last night my parents came down to spend the evening with us.  Loren came down for supper too and met Dad.  They got alone wonderfully. Mom even mentioned how nice it is to sit down and have a conversation with him and not feel tension or that she was not welcome around him like it was in the past.   We all chatted about work and this weird winter of ours and how things are going for everyone.  A wild game of UNO was played and Little Man got a cold cup of water in the shower.  LOL  Family traditions are fun!

It was delightful way to spend the evening.  Wonderful food, great conversation and laughter and enjoyment.

Dancing Smiles

Last night, the kids and I were invited to a dance performance!  It was so fun and cute and wonderful!  Smiles and tutus and dance shoes and cheers and screams!  These lovely children preformed during half time at the local basket ball team and it was wonderful!  We were there specifically for one lovely dancing girl and fell in love with all of them!  There were even two young gentlemen who performed and they rocked it!

A New Weekend Art Project

So yesterday, while I was getting the house ready for our 1st Annual Super Bowl Party (Which ROCKED by the way!), Loren sat down with the kids and their friends with a new project that we had discussed doing.  So of course, me being me, I put down the party goods and got the camera out.

His mother, a wonderful strong intelligent woman, has a glass cutting system.  So he borrowed it for the day.  And we sat down to do a bit of experimenting.  There are so many wasted bottles and such out there, and honestly, some very pretty shapes and colors, so why not make a vase, or a drinking glass, or a candle holder?

Little Man found it so interesting!

The girls sat back and watched hesitantly at first.  After all, how can you cut glass?  LOL  Because at 13, you know everything!

God forbid a girl put down her phone!  LOL

I love the fact that Loren stressed the importance of reading and following the directions of any new project that the kids start.

Little Man found it fascinating. He didn’t understand how just scoring the bottle would work in causing the two halves of the bottle to separate.

He was quite skeptical, but hung in there!

Even the girls….who at 13…are captivated by the process.

Best Saying I’ve Heard In A Long Time…

I find it funny how if one person stands up for themselves…rather than bending over and taking it in the shorts…others get so pissy and defensive. But if those others stand up for themselves, others gather like flies to shit….

Dreams

Wow. What a summer. I never dreamed it would get so insane. I’m so busy. I have nothing holding me back this year. Nothing saying no, or hamper my confidence. The results? Freaking amazing. I LOVE it. I am so blessed to have my beautiful children that God had given me. They are amazing and are Loving this live as well. So many wonderful experiences, friends.
There is part of me that can’t help but think that if we had been left alone, there would have been someone else sharing in this wonderful experience with us, but I can’t help the influence of those who just didn’t get that they should mind their own business. I find it amazing that jealousy and snobbishness can and did influence what could have been a life time of joy. But…that’s the way life is I guess. I can even honestly say that it was admitted to me that someone important in my life back then was jealous of the fact that I LOVED my career so much that I went to work every day with a smile. Instead of being happy for me and working on their own career choices, they chose to hate me for mine. It robbed me of some happiness. But ultimately, it really robbed them of theirs. Resenting someone else for their happiness does not gain anyone any bit of happiness at all. Especially when support and Love could have helped provide them with a life time of support and love for themselves.

To me, it seems the natural disasters that are happening across the country as well as across the world have increased ten fold. From extreme droughts to extreme flooding and tornadoes, I don’t understand.
Now, once again, we are praying for friends, family, as well as strangers in our North Dakota flood zone. It seems like we just got over the hump and it’s right back at us. I don’t understand God’s plan, but I have to believe he has one for these poor people and their families. After all, his plan for me and my children was very blurry for quite some time, and for a while, I even thought he had abandoned us, but in the long run, he provided us with a better, happier, more positive life.
I can only pray that is his plan for all of those in the flood’s path. Please Lord help them. Keep them strong. Provide them with some relief, both externally as well as internally. They need you, even if, just like me, they don’t always understand.
